Real fun. Reel fun.
Based in Adelaide, Australia, Windmill Production Company has a global reputation as a leading producer of theatre and screen projects for children, teenagers, and families. We bring excellent artists together to uncover and ignite stories that are burning to be told. Each year we perform in our hometown and tour across Australia and around the world. Our productions have won many prestigious awards across stage and screen including Helpmann, Greenroom, AACTA, Kidscreen, Australian Production Design Guild and Australian Writers Guild (to name just a few).
In 2016, we released our first feature film, Girl Asleep, which won multiple awards and was acclaimed by critics and audiences alike. This led to the establishment of a new arm of the company dedicated to developing screen projects from our live theatre repertoire.
Formerly known as Windmill Theatre Company and Windmill Pictures, in 2025 the company consolidated both identities to become Windmill Production Company.
“The best children’s theatre company in the country.” The Australian
